Goatscaping, also known as targeted grazing or goat rental, is the practice of using goats to clear land by grazing. It's an environmentally friendly and increasingly popular method for managing vegetation, especially in areas with challenging terrain or where traditional methods like mowing or herbicides are impractical. Goats consume a wide variety of plants, including invasive species and those that are toxic to humans or other animals, making them a valuable tool for land management.

Here's a more detailed look at goatscaping:

How it works:

  • Goats are turned loose on a designated, and fenced, area and allowed to graze, consuming unwanted vegetation.

  • They can effectively clear land, including steep slopes, rocky areas, and dense brush, which can be difficult or impossible to access with machinery.

  • Goats can also help control invasive species like kudzu and poison ivy, as they are known to eat these plants.

  • Goatscaping can be used for various purposes, including clearing land for construction, wildfire prevention, and improving pastureland.
